Dear Friend, I suppose you will be looking for a line now everything is going along fine we have had some squally weather which we can look for at this time of the year they give us a big march yesterday closer to 8 miles and we had our coats rolled and over our shoulders and you bet there was tired boys it started to rain when we got near the camp we expect to see May or Lessard from Toronto but we didnt guess it was on account of the weather. Well Scobel talked to us before we left he said he was sorry that the passes had been cancelled so long but he said he was not to blame for it and he knew how hard it to lay around and not get out for he likes to get home himself so he said the passes will start tomorrow from 9 to 11 and if any married men must stay or would like to stay overnight darn have their passes signed by him but he dont want anyone staying over time so I'll will see if I can be married for one night so if all is well I will be home this week I will ask the sergeant today if I can get Sat. I will let you know now I trust you & your mother & Pa is feeling well I guess this is seen a long week but you bet there is another the same way I hope you got the letter alright and save the cards now as the mail $0.30. I will draw to a close everybody is snoring in here and i will drop a line
